RO_Tenderfoot Scouting is life-long! The values that we teach our youth—trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness—continue to be important to us as adults. When we pass out of childhood, the journey has just begun.

roversThe worldwide scouting movement was founded in 1907 by Robert Baden-Powell, who believed that scouts could serve in their communities as modern-day knights errant. What is a modern-day knight? Someone who explores the wilderness, seeks adventure, and always helps others when they come across someone in need.

Rover Scouts strive to learn useful skills, to give back to their communities, to be a friend to all, and to have fun! Like all BPSA sections, the Rover Crew is open to scouts of all genders, levels of ability, races, religions, and orientations.

In the 23rd Oaklanders, Rover Scouts participate in hikes and campouts along with our youth sections, and also plan their own adult-only outings. If you are interested in joining us please contact our Rover Crew Leader, David Bushong, at david@oaklanders.org.
