NorCal Hullabaloo 2017

HBoo16Patch

Northern California’s third annual Hullabaloo—a campout open to all BPSA scouts—will be held at the Bort Meadows group campsite in Anthony Chabot regional park, from 2 PM on Friday, July 7th to noon on Sunday, July 9th. The cost to join us for the weekend is $5 per camper; children 2 and under are free. There will also be a camp meal plan for those who wish to buy into the communal/group cooking menu, at an additional cost of $15 per camper (covering two dinners, two breakfasts, one lunch, and coffee). The exact menu will be determined based on numbers but will include both omnivore and vegetarian/vegan options. If you choose not to join the camp meal plan, please come prepared to feed your family.

Families should bring their own tents, sleeping bags, and dishware—a plate, fork, and mug for each person—along with other personal camping gear such as sunscreen, flashlights, bug repellent, etc. Scouts should come in uniform, or in case of very hot weather, in BPSA tee shirts or solid-colored tees. Bring jackets in case it cools off at night!

There are 75 parking spaces a 15-minute walk from the meadow; no other parking is available, but it is possible to drive up to the site for load in/out.

We have a planned schedule with some organized events. But please know that a) it’s perfectly fine for parents to kick back with a book while the scouts are cooking, hiking, or playing games, and b) it’s also okay for kids to weave in and out of the group activities as their ages/attention spans/personal interests demand.
